This and that

A few things to show you today. First of all this card I made for a very good friend who was having her birthday yesterday. Two things, I decided, had to be on it. The little bells because she just loves them and something Parisy because she likes to visit Paris every year. She isn't even afraid to drive there. R.E.S.P.E.C.T.

R.E.S.P.E.C.T.
I really love the card myself. The green left part is a real vintage cheque, written in 1949. For a moment I hesitated and thought I was ruining something valuable and rare but then I just said to myself that there were propably on heaps of shelves of old banks piles of this old cheques. No hesitation...........just cut!
I bought several different of this cheques (forgot in whose Etsy shop it was) and the ones I got are all written out by Emily Dillard and L.B. Dillard and again, as with the old photos, I am wondering who they were. I imagine they were rich as some of the cheques are for 100 and 500 dollars. In 1947 that must have been a lot of money.
Is Abbeville a city or village in the States? Some of the cheques are from the Bank of Abbeville.
Uitgescreven in 19e49.
Toch?
The back of the card. She just this week booked a trip to Curacao en is so excited about it that I made up a fake adress in Willemstad, Curacao.

This card is totally different I think I can safely say. It is for my darling niece who just graduated. I am so proud of her and wanted this card to be hapy and colourful and bright, like she is.
I do like the card but when I look at it it feels like someone else made it and not me. It is just not my regular style.

And look down here what the mail brought me this week? Do I have a great mother or what?

Both cards are fabulous. Love that you used a check. I looked up that bank and it looks like it is a bank in Louisiana and Mississippi. Which is in the South of the US. :)

Both your cards are amazing! I really love the one for your friend. It is very vintage, and I know what you mean about hesitating to cut and use the actual check. But it turned out just perfect. All your details on both cards are wonderful.
You have a really lovely blog!
Hugs,
Terri
