Mom

Mother's day again. Tommorow! And as the post doesn't deliver on sunday my mom got her card today and she already called telling me how beautiful the card is (like she would say something else :-))
The 18th we are going to spend the night in a hotel together and visit one of the dutch royal palaces in the neighbourhood.

The pillow

Here it finally is. My hysterical pillow. Hysterical because I put so hysterically much stuff on it.
Hier is die dan eindelijk. Mijn kussen.
I know, my sewing skills need a lot practice and I had a hudge fight with the zipper but practice makes perfect and I plan on making more pillow.
I do like the roses though, kind of proud of them.
Lots of buttons from my mom as well as from the market.

And now it is really time to give credit where credit is due. You can see this lady has much better skills then I have and I absolutely adore her website. She is an artist!
Go and check out her weblog Once Upon a Pink Moon.

Long time, no blog

I know, I have been away way to long but sometimes you are just so busy with other things like work for instance. Who invented work should be punished severly! It gets in the way with my free time.
Anyway, did make another card finally, as you can see here.
Hugs,

You are sick!

Faithfull blogger and commenter Riet has been to the hospital again. Luckily she is at home again but still feeling like crap.
I made this card especially for her. I hope her body will find the strength to heal a little bit more and that then she will feel better!

Furthermore I am working on a pillow but not sure how it is gonna work out yet. I am inspired by someone who I surely will give credit to when I decide the pillow turned out allright enough to show you here on my blog but now I am gonna give you a sneak peak.

Have a super easter!
Veel paasplezier!

Becoming 50

I was asked to make two cards for women who turn 50 shortly.

Last Sunday I was going over to a friend. Her daughter recently came home from France, where she was working for six months and is now going to live on her own.
I made this hanger, using salt dough, and put it around a bottle of red wine.

Finally! It took me years but I managed to keep a Helleborus alive throught winter and it started to bloom! How springish is that?

Eindelijk!

Going back in time, one sketch, two cards

It has been a while but Bree from Get Sketchy asked us to make two cards from one sketch. She was planning on making a book. The book however will not be printed in this capacity so that gives me the freedom to show you the cards I made then.
The sketch (three pics down) was made by Dora.

Talking about going green. For this card I used an empty chocolatebox. The dotted paper is from cuttlebug and I colored the dots by lightly touching them with a bleu inkpad.

Have a great sunday! I hope the weather at your place is as nice as overhere.

wreath with shells

I used to make lots of shellswreaths years and years ago. In fact it might have been in another lifetime when I was still twenty something.
This time I wanted to make the wreath a little scrappy but I am not sure or I succeeded in that. In fact I am not sure or it turned out ok at all!
I think I have been at it to long and don't have a clear judgement anymore. You know the feeling?

And this is what it started out with. I just happened to stumble up on it in one of this big stores with heaps of cheap stuff. It brought back the memories of making the wreaths somewhere in a far, far away past.

Salt dough

Lately I saw a few blogs talking about salt dough. I even saw one that stamped on salt dough. Sorry, can't remember which blog that was but after seeing that it was simmering in my mind. I had to try that.
The bird on the above photo swelled up in the oven and ended up in the waste bin. Poor bird.

Before baking it I pinched some wholes in the different ornaments in order to make them hanging ornaments.

Another example of what I did. It needs some more altering. Not sure what yet but I am sure it'll come to me one day.
I made the dough measuring with grams as we do in Holland so I searched the web for you not european people and found an english recipe and some more explaining. Click here.
I can add that I had some dough left and that I kept in a plastic bag that I closed with a tight knot and it is still good.

Two cards

I made the card above superquickly. All pieces just fitted. The one below however was a little harder. I never knew where it was going and somehow I ended up with this:
I am kind of happy with the reslukt but the stupid thing is that it looks so much better for real. I have that a lot. I guess my camera is just not good enough for the real good work.
