Over the top

Okay, I got this award from both Dora and Jolanda. Both superduper talented girls! Normally when I get one I forget telling you on this blog but this time I thought it was a very funny one with the questions you had to answer that come with it so I tried not forgetting mentioning it here. And I didn't!

My very first LO

I always said I would never make one. Cards were my thing!
And then all of a sudden one afternoon I decided that I would join Manuela and Joyce at a crop that evening at Hobbyworld Croptime in Hazerswoude Rijndijk.
I hurried home to find some photos and after a very lovely evening with the girls I came up with a lovely lay-out that I finished at home.
So here it is. My first LO: The photo is very bad I think. The weather today was kind of grey but I put a daylight lamp on my LO before shooting a pic.

Hier zie je dan mijn allereerste lay-out. Ik roep al jaren dat ik daar nooit aan zou beginnen maar zoals wel vaker kan ik zo maar ineens mijn mening veranderen en op een goede middag ineens besluiten om 's avonds al mee te gaan naar een crop bij Hobbyworld in Hazerswoude Rijndijk. Samen met Manuela en Joyce en de andere dames had ik een gezellige avond en kwam ik met een leuke LO thuis die ik verder thuis nog een beetje opgepimpt heb.
De foto is niet al te goed vanwege het grijze weer maar met een daglichtlamp is dit het beste resultaat wat ik kon krijgen.

Yep, the baby is me with my sister and mom.
En ja hoor, ik ben de baby op de foto, vergezeld door moeders en zus.

Get Sketchy challenge # 11

Here is my take on the 11th challenge of Get Sketchy. We had to use the clear stamp from That's Jazzy stamps dream, this weeks sponsor.

Hier zie je mijn uitwerking van schets 11. We moesten de stempel van That's Jazzy stamps Dream gebruiken en dat was geen straf.

Flowers

A busy day ahead. I am going to work in the office as I still have earproblems and can not fly.
But I did make a little something yesterday which I like to show you.
Yesterday my scrapgirls, Joyce and Manuela, and I made these flowers. I saw this on internet once but I lost the link so can't refer to it unfortunately but I'll keep searching for it.

Drukke dag vandaag. Ik ga voor het eerst op kantoor werken omdat ik met mijn oorproblemen nog niet kan vliegen.
Ik laat nog wel even een paar foto's achter van wat bloemen die ik met mijn scrapvriendinnen, Joyce en Manuela, heb gemaakt gisteren.
Ik heb dit ooit ergens op een filmpje gezien maar ik ben de link kwijt. Als ik deze weer vind zal ik het alsnog plaatsen.
This flower was made by Manuela with flowers cut out of a newspaper and inked with distress ink from Ranger.
De bloem hieronder heeft Manuela van krantenpapier gemaakt en gekleurd met distress inkt van Ranger.

Some of them we decorated with glitter.
Sommige hebben we van glitter voorzien.

Just one more.......

I can't help it. Had to make another one. I think I might have a new addiction.
Ik kan er niks aan doen. Ik moest er gewoon nog eentje maken. Ik denk dat ik er een nieuwe verslaving bij heb.

Van een waxinelichtje op batterijen wordt een prachtig kunstwerkje gemaakt.

Inspired

Sometimes you just get stuck and have not got any more inspiration.
Soms zit je even vast en heb je gewoon geen inspiratie meer.

Than I am going to surf the web to find some inspiration. At Let's get Shabby I found this tutorial from Mandy, using her What is old is new kit.
I used green polkadotfabric for the cover. I cut it out of a pillow cover I bought for 99 cents.
I like a good bargain.

Dan ga ik vaak over het web surfen in de hoop wat te vinden wat me inspireert. Dit keer vond ik bij Let's get Shabby, een tutorial van Mandy waarbij ze gebruikt maakt van haar What is old is new kit.
Ik heb de buitenkant bekleed met groene polkadot stof. Het komt van een kussensloop die ik bij Zeeman voor 99 cent kocht. Ik ben gek op het vinden van goedkope spulletjes om te gebruiken bij mijn hobby's.

Okay, I might have gone a little overboard for a postcard. I think it might be quite pricy to send through mail.

Eigenlijk kan je het geen kaart meer noemen maar ik spring graag uit de band. Moet alleen niet aan de verzendkosten denken.

Not feeling to creative lately being sick at home again. This card took me 2 or 3 days to make. I did a little bit of this, left it alone and then the other day a little bit of that.
When I look at it, it looks like someone else's card. It is so not my style. Still I think I kind of like itl.

Another christmas canvas.

I made another christmas canvas. Kind of pink this time.

Ik heb er weer een gemaakt. Een kerstcanvas. Dit keer een (oud)rose.

I cut out a christmas tree out of cardboard and spraypainted it white. I could only find radiatorspray so I used that thinking it would be as good as any other.
While the paint was still wet I added Rayher Effektflitter (white) and some silver glitter a big thicker that I had laying around for ages now.

Ik heb uit karton een kerstboom geknipt en deze met verfspray bewerkt. Radiatorlak in dit geval omdat ik niks anders kon vinden in mijn schuurtje. Ik dacht dat het vast wel zou werken en ja hoor! Prima spul.

Daarna, terwijl de verf nog nat was, Rayher effekt flitter toegevoegd en wat zilveren grovere glitter die al ik weet niet hoe lang in mijn la ligt.

Did the same to the metal leaves and I spraypainted the bathsponge I ripped apart with silver spraypaint. I bought it last christmas and found it in the shed while looking for the white spraypaint.

Met de metalen blaadjes die ik had heb ik het zelfde gedaan. De badspons die je ziet heb ik uit elkaar getrokken en een stuk van afgeknipt.
Bij het zoeken naar witte sprayverf vond ik ook nog zilveren van vorig jaar kerst en daarmee heb ik de stukjes spons bewerkt.

Something totally different now. A little wooden box I embellished.

En nu iets heel anders. Een houten doosje dat ik versierd heb.

Firstly I added some Gesso to give it a bit of an old look and I painted it with Ranger alcohol ink, color Latte.
Added a ribbon, as you can see.

Ik heb er eerst een laag Gesso opgedaan om het een beetje oud te laten lijken en deze gekleurd met Ranger alcohol inkt, kleur Latte.
Een een lintje eromheen, ooit bij het Kruidvat gekocht.

I punched a lot of white leaves and glued it cirkelwise to the top.
I gave the ones on the top a layer of Glossy Accents in which I sprinkled some Effekt Flitter from Rayher.
A pearl as finishing touch.

Veel witte blaadjes geponst en deze in een cirkelvorm op het doosje geplakt. Op de bovenste deed ik een laagje Glossy accents en daar heb ik wat Effekt Flitter van Rayher over heen gegooid.

Despite it all being very simple I really like the little box.

Ondanks dat het een simpel doosje is geworden ben ik er toch wel erg gek op.

Kazan's sketch 36

This is my take on Kazan's sketch 36 over at 2 sketches 4 You.
I wanted to keep it clean and straight but I thought that was so boring and found myself adding some white paint at the edges.
Still not sure or I should have done that.

Dit is mijn invulling van Kazan's sketch 36 van 2 Sketches 4 You.
Ik wilde het dit keer een strakke kaart houden maar vond hem niet af en zo ontzettend saai dat ik er uiteindelijk toch een wit randje verf op heb gegooid.
Ik twijfel nog steeds of ik dat wel had moeten doen.

Ja, jullie zien het goed, ook een nederlandse vertaling dit keer, op verzoek van moeders. Ik beloof niks maar ik doe mijn best om dit vol te houden.

Get Sketchy challenge # 8

Eight already! Wow, time flies when you are having fun! And fun I had making this card.
I really like this weeks sketch. Especially because we, the Get Sketchy design team, got to use all this wonderful Pebbles stuff.
They sent us paper, stickers and ribbon. I love getting gifts like that!

I turned it into a get well card for Dora (the girl who makes all this wonderful sketches) who is not well for a few weeks now and probably had to undergo surgery soon.
Ofcourse I had to decorate the inside as well.

And the back ofcourse!

The pompoms are from the market. furthermore everything is Pebbles'.
