Barcelona, gotta love the city

It was a year already since I was in Barcelona and I was thrilled to find a 24 hour lay over on my schedule. How I love this vibrant city.
Where vintage and modern blend so well.

And if you love romantic balconies as much as I do you find yourself wandering through the streets not looking straight ahead, which would be the safest thing to do, but up all the time.
Being dutchies, we assumed this was a smart shop.
Until we had a closer look. It was just a candy store. Very expensive but adorable pots of candy.
Kind of a contrast with this beautiful vintage store. It is not that it is trying to be this vintage it just is this very old shop where nothing ever really changed.
Huge billboards are a real Barcelona thing as well.
Goodnight Barcelona.

More little darlings

Apparently I am not the only one who fell in love with this paper from Graphics 45, I see it coming by on several blogs.
My friend gave birth to a beautiful son and I made her this card. Hope she like it.

Jars

I decopatched this jars some months ago and I kept feeling they missed something. A few days ago I added this rope and now I finally feel like they are finished.
How simple can it be? Just a little rope.

Winehearts

When my parents were vacationing in Greece some time ago they drank wine that came in bottles wrapped in a beautiful bag that was closed with a string on which hang a coin.
My mother is trained well  by me and brought me home those bags and coins. I loved the bags and coins. Yesterday I suddenly knew what to do with them. Making hearts! I love them! Unfortunately not enough coins for all the hearts but I do think the clocks look great too.

Cross Stitching

Although cross stitching and I  never have been close friends I have been at it again lately. I fell in love with this pattern from http://talonsaiguilles.over-blog.fr/ and gave it a try. I think I did ok.

Rainy day

What do you do on a boring rainy day? You start stamping on fabric  en make some cute hearts.

Little Darlings Collection, Graphics 45

Yesterday, was a great day. Marjanne was in Holland for only one day to see her son graduate. Before she took the Thalys back home (France) in the afternoon we had lunch together.
Ofcourse we couldn't resist the craft store and we both fell in love with this beautiful Graphics 45 paper and both bought the Little Bundle of Joy and the New arrival.
When I came home I saw a garland hanging before one of my neigbours window, they got a son. What a coincidence.
With this beautiful paper it was so easy to make a nice card. Hopefully they like it.

What I like about it is that finally I found a vintage baby image with a baby with coloured skin. One of my friends is about to give birth to a baby with a coloured skin (if not, she is gonna be in big trouble :-)) and I couldn't find a right image to make her a card. So happy to have found this paper!

Have a great day!

Shells

On the market in Rhodes they sold shells and I almost bought them but reminded myself in time that I have a box full of all kinds of shells waiting for me to use them in a project.
So when I was meeting my two friends Simone and Hennie and we were wondering or there was some crafting we could do I immediately said: "shells".

Simone

Simone found the time to make a soaprope with them as well, isn't it fun?

When she got home she added some ribbons, just what it needed, she whatsapped the photo which isn't to great but hopefully "you get the picture".

Have a nice day!

Crocheting and Rhodos

My dream was crocheting a granny squares blanket for some time now but unfortunately I had to be honest with myself and after several crochet attempts I had to acknowledge that crocheting was just not my thing.
My local craft store got more and more yarn and I told Sandra, the owner, how sorry I felt I just couldn't seem to learn how to crochet. How difficult this patterns were for me to read and that I gave up on it.
She advised me to give it a last try with You Tube. And so I did.
That was it for me! No difficult pattern reading but seeing it done hands on.
And now here is my first attempt! I am kind of proud although it is probably full of errors.
It might be kind of ambitious but I want to make it bigger and have it as a blanket on my bed.

It has been a while since I blogged, I know. I just didn't get anything ready although I was crafting here and there and I didn't have anything to share with you.
And then I went to Rhodes Greece for a week. Oh, what a beautiful island it is! Some of my pics underneath.

Have a nice day!!!
