My first Valentine cards

I am totally in love with this Vintage Valentine papers from fancypantsdesigns by Nancie Rowe-Janitz. Just had to buy it when I saw it. I didn't hesitate for one second!
The glitter hearts are from Melissa Frances and the buttons I glued to it are from Crea motion. I cut off the plastic eye on the back with which you can sew it on to something. I just glue everything!
Toen ik dit Vintage Village papier van Fancypantsdesigns door Nancie Rowe-Janitz zag twijfelde ik geen moment. Het lag in dezelfde seconde nog in mijn mandje.
Het hart is van Melissa Francis en de knopen erop van Creamotion. Er zit een oogje aan de achter kant dat gelukkig van plastic is en er dus makkelijk vanaf geknipt kan worden.

Get Sketchy challenge # 21

My take on challenge 21. We, the design team, got to use Paper Trunk paper. They are this weeks sponsor and you can win some of their fabulous stamps.

Do you know the feeling? I was so happy with this card when it was just finished but after having taken its picture I just didn't like it anymore.

This is my card for challenge 19. We "had" to use Unity Stamps and were so lucky to get some.

Get Sketchy, Trash to Treasure challenge

This weeks challenge is all about trash. I was just about to throw away this box in which I got a free catfood sample when I thought about this challenge. And this is what came out of it.

Deze week wil Get Sketchy zien hoe jij van iets wat normaal in de prullenbak zou verdwijnen iets moois wordt gemaakt.
Ik kreeg een gratis kattenvoer zakje in dit doosje. Ik wilde het net weggooien toen ik me herinnerde dat ik nog iets voor Get Sketchy moest maken.
En dit is dus wat het geworden is.


Vintage Key Hole, Melissa Frances

The Vintage Key Hole was glued on a card with this MF thingy and the colors were so suitable for my project that I used it. Otherwise it would have ended up as TRASH! And that is were this weeks challenge is all about, isn't it.

Het vintage sleutelgat van Melissa Frances zat geplakt op een kaartje met haar logo en die kleur paste precies bij mijn project. Dus heb ik het uitgeknipt en gebruikt in plaats van het in de prullenbak te gooien. Helemaal in de sfeer van het thema dus!

Snow Boy

Yeah right! I already sent out all my christmas cards and now I made this one. Without thinking, doubting what to do, it just happened, in no time! I wasn't even planning on making a christmas card. And I love it!
I guess I have to save it for next year!


Ja hoor, heb ik alle kerstkaarten al verzonden maak ik deze ineens. Ik was helemaal niet van plan om een kerstkaart te maken maar ik was gewoon een beetje aan het pielen en zonder denken of twijfelen zat deze heel snel in elkaar. En ik vind hem zo gaaf!

Get Sketchy Color challenge

Make a card in your favorite color is this weeks challenge at Get Sketchy. No sketch this week and next week. Just a little holidaybreak!

Ever since I was a little girl pink has been my favourite color but nowadays blue, and especially the lighter blues are favorite as well.

Komende twee weken, vanwege de kerst, geen schets bij Get Sketchy maar een andere uitdaging. Ook wel eens leuk voor de afwisseling.
Deze week is de uitdaging een kaart te maken in je favoriete kleur.
Nu is van kleins af aan rose mijn favoriete kleur maar de laatste tijd is blauw daar bij gekomen, vooral de lichtere blauwe kleuren.

Dark bleu paper is from scrapbour/calambour but I forgot where the other is from.
The flower is a Melissa Frances die cut.

Het donkerblauwe papier is van scrapbour/calambour. Het andere papier weet ik niet meer.
De bloem is van Melissa Frances.

Can't remember where the paper is from but the three ribbons used are all from the Saturday Market. I think that when I stop buying ribbons at this guy he will go bankrupt! ;-)

Geen idee meer waar het papier van is maar alle drie de linten die ik gebruikt heb zijn van de markt hier in Alphen op zaterdag. Ik denk dat wanneer ik stop met linten kopen bij deze man, hij gelijk failliet gaat ;-)
De klokjes aan het rode lint zijn van de Zeeman.

I am in love with this vintage Santa.

Snowdome

At Let's Get Shabby, Jenny shows us how to make a snowdome. Ofcourse I had to make one myself.
Op Let's Get Shabby laat Jenny zien hoe je een "sneeuwbol" kunt maken. Natuurlijk ben ik er zelf ook mee aan de slag gegaan.

I found it is very difficult to photograph something that is behind glass.
Het is vrij moeilijk om iets achter glas te fotograferen.

I think Jenny's were more beautiful. I have to give it another try some day.

Die van Jenny waren mooier, vind ik maar ach.............ik maak er nog wel eens eentje. Oefening baart kunst.

Free digistamps at Scrapdictive

If you like to have some free digistamps you just have to go over to the weblog of the talented Jolanda. She made some and is giving them away for free! And we like free, don't we? Especially when the free stuff is this beautiful!

Als je van digistamps houdt moet je zeker even naar het weblog van de getalenteerde Jolanda. Ze heeft een stel hele mooie stamps gemaakt, moet je echt even gaan zien.

En we zijn natuurlijk wel nederlands hé...............het is GRATIS! En gaaf dat ze zijn!

Another birdhouse

Why not? I still had one laying around so I'd better do something with it, I thought.
So, I painted it with two colors acrylic paint and with a colorbox pigment brush pad Gold I made the sides look old.

Nog een vogelhuisje? Waarom niet? Ik had er nog eentje liggen dus ik kon er net zo goed wat mee doen.
Met twee kleuren acrylverf en met de Colorbox pigment brush pad Goud heb ik de randen wat aangedikt om het wat ouder te doen lijken. I was doubtful about adding the roses because they don't have anything to do with christmas but the colour just made the birdhouse look so much better.
I thought I'd just tell you it is a Japanese christmas rose. Sounds logical, doesn't it?

Ik wilde de rozen eerst niet toevoegen omdat ze helemaal niks met kerst van doen hebben maar de kleur voegde zoveel toe aan het vogelhuisje dat ik het toch heb gedaan.
Als ik jullie nou vertel dat het de Japanse kerstroos is, geloven jullie dat dan?

Get Sketchy challenge # 18

First I wanna say sorry for not being around much lately and not visiting all of your blogs, Time just simply fails me. Hopefully you all understand.

And now about Get Sketchy number 18 already! The price is a great one! A mini score it, a tote bag and an A2 Envelope it. This week entering the challenge is really worth your while.
Personally I really loved the sketch and I don't think my card turned out to be bad either.

Eerst wil ik even zeggen dat ik het erg jammer vind dat ik op dit moment niet zoveel op blogger te vinden ben en dus ook niet veel weblogs bezoek. Sorry jongens, gewoon ff geen tijd. Komt wel weer.

De Get Sketchy van deze week is echt een leuke schets en je kan er een geweldig leuke prijs winnen. De Mini score it met een tasje en een A2 Envelope-it.

Wooden box

My mother saw this two wooden box in a store and thought right away that they would be a nice project for me. Unfortunately they were broken but my stephfather lend a helping hand and fixed them.
Mijn moeder kwam twee houten dozen tegen bij de Xenos waarbij ze gelijk aan mij moest denken. Helaas waren ze wel een beetje kapot maar mijn stiefvader heeft ze gerepareerd.

Doesn't look broken anymore now, does it? Only a little bit boring maybe. But that is were I come in.
Dat ziet er toch weer netjes uit zo, niet? Alleen een beetje saai misschien, dus aan de slag ermee.

I added Gesso and differenct colors Piñata color and Adirdondack Alcohol ink.

Ik heb er Gesso en verschillende kleuren Piñata color en Adirdondack Alcohol ink aan toegevoegd.

And some embellishments ofcourse.

En nog wat versierseltjes natuurlijk.

On top of the lid I added a little Perfect Pearls gold to make it a look a little more livelier.

En om het helemaal af te maken heb ik bovenop nog wat Perfect Pearls goud toegevoegd hier en daar.

I kind of like the box. I am happy with what I did with it. What do you think?
